  1. Fascinating, short torso bodies at least in Pacific Asia are seen as very positive, since it means higher hips and longer legs.

  2. There are so many things I needed to hear in this video…. My body is almost exactly like yours… I figured out some but it feels great to be validated. Growing up, I’ve struggled with low self esteem because I didn’t fit a certain body type. I’ve also struggled with buying clothes… Thank you so much for this video! ❤

  3. My size is usually a small, but my bust needs a M-L.. it makes finding stuff that doesn’t make me look ridiculous, VERY hard 😅

  4. I found myself nodding and agreeing to every point you said especially towards the end. What I got out of this video was discovering i had an average torso i used to think i was on the long side

  5. I’m pretty sure I have a long torso, but big back runs in the family ahaha so I actually gain more weight under my chin and my upper torso. I mean I get some on my legs for sure, but I can’t tell if it looks balanced or top heavy 🤔

  6. I really enjoyed this video. It was like 20 minutes of appreciating my body. I didn’t know I had these powerful shoulders that give my oversized clothes structure, like Lisa. Look at me! Thank you!

  7. thank you for making this video such a safe space for people who struggle with their body image. it’s really nice to be able to get this kind of advice without being fed the subtle messaging that you need to change yourself to look good.

  8. THANK YOU for the tip about using your hands and your belly button to start determining torso length!! I’ve always had trouble fitting into dresses with a defined waistline because the waist seam always lands an inch or two above my natural waist. And now I know why: I have a long torso! Time to dive into finding what’s flattering for my proportions!

  9. I hope you know that every time you constantly every five seconds, reiterate that being fat or not looking like the model standard doesn’t make you bad, is putting unnecessary shame towards girls that are naturally skinny or models. Skinny girls and models are just as gorgeous as anyone else, and they are not responsible for those of us that are more midsize potentially feeling self-conscious about our bodies or fat distribution. In all my life I NEVER thought there was anything "wrong" with me for not looking like them until people lkie you constantly started reminding me in content like this. Why can’t you just talk about body proportions objectively without constantly pointing out that you don’t need to be skinny, or that if you’re fat or don’t take care of yourself or are just naturally more overweight that it’s not a problem? you guys are constantly putting the idea in everybody’s head that they don’t need to think they’re a problem, even though most of us don’t have a problem unless we’re chronically online and have no sense of self-love towards our bodies, which isn’t anybody’s fault, except the person who hates themselves enough to even think like that about themselves in the first place to fix. Yeah, all the models in these photos are gorgeous but by constantly reminding people that they don’t need to look like that, time after time it starts to sound like "models and skinny hourglass girls aren’t actually pretty they’re just what the media shows us." Like why do you constantly have to denote the value and beauty of these models to try and make other people who don’t look like them feel good? there’s enough room for every 1 to be gorgeous and shine and feel good about themselves.

  10. Thank you for using kind words about how we look at our bodies. I’m glad to see this video has so many views. I’m starting to sew and I’m researching and I’m just so grateful I came across this video. New subscriber here❤️

  11. Me hearing about anterior pelvic tilt: "Oh there’s a word for that?! … oh, I should probably do something about that…"

  12. I watched through all the video without writing down or testing anything, but because of the way you talk. It’s.. magical, I guess? Never saw that before!!

  13. my mind is BLOWN. My mom always told me I had broad shoulders (probably bc I tend to wear overzied clothes) and that they came off boxy at times…my tanktops, bra straps are ALWAYS falling off and I have to tighten them so much. I totally have slightly narrow shoulders! Also, always assumed I had a short torso since I always saw my legs as stubby..I have a longer torso! Can’t wait to try out different styles, and I have noticed wide legged pants looked pretty good so I’m going to incoperate them more and maybe try out more feminine tops opposed to my usual oversized shirt 🙂

  14. I everyone I’m new followers in this channel, I like your vibe and grace in your video I understand as a large shoulders it’s not ugly, strange or a problem for dress. For now, I don’t find my style, but I hope in the future I can find my style grace has YouTuber like you. Thanks for this video!

  15. this is my first time watching a video of yours and I love!! of course idk you or where you’re from, but your accent flares really threw me lmao idk if you’re american and like aussie talk sometimes or vice versa, but i am here for it

*for body fat distribution, looking at people who weigh the same but are two different heights can demonstrate how shorter bodies store fat differently than taller bodies

  16. Really good video, said by a man. I measured my body as you suggested and I figured out I just have a long neck, about one inch longer than average-long, everything else is completely average. At least I’m 6 foot and not 5’11".

  17. I always felt goofy and bulky in oversized or trendy boxy clothes. That’s cause my shoulders are small in comparison to my overall body and my bust has more volume despite me having smaller band size. My hips are rounder and slightly extend past my shoulders(barely noticeable) but kinda wide but for my height it looks moderate I guess, the widest is the thigh are so I am kind of a X figure (different from 8). Pleaded skirts look so bad on me. I look best when I emphasize my vertical elongation and narrowness. Since I am skinny-fat leaning chubby, I need to accommodate curves but I know for sure that if I was skinnier I would just have to accommodate vertical elongation and narrowness of my bone structure. I also have moderate torso while my sister has short torso, so her shirts look short and awkward on me.

My weight distribution is I suppose kind of balanced I think idk. But I noticed my arms are super long and narrow so it looks skinny even though it’s not. My legs though don’t look that thin…I think I mainly have fat on my upper/and mid section but it’s kinda distributed tbh

This was so fun thanks ❤

  18. Girl???? Where have you been???? That was just mind blowing to me thank you thank you thank you!!!
I had a lot of fun understanding my body proportions and why some clothes look awkard on me, sending lots of love to you ❤

  19. Regarding bags falling off your shoulder and boat necklines – I’s say it’s not whether your shoulders are wide or not but rather it’s about their angle vs neck.

  20. i’m happy i found this video and i love how carefully you approach a topic that can be so stressful for a lot of people. you did something very nice here! thank you so much fo that!!

  21. Tearing up at the intro re: body dysmorphia–thank you for advocating for self-awareness and patience by providing this gentle reminder. Absolutely the most wholesome thing. Thank you!

  22. 21:08 wait long torso is favored?? I thought it was the opposite. I have long torso and I hate it but I think it’d look better if my thigh bones weren’t so broad so maybe they’re the ones to blame
